WE PASSED GO: MONOPOLY NAPA VALLEY LAUNCHES FEATURING FRANK FAMILY VINEYARDS 

Situation

In February 2022 it was announced that Napa Valley would be getting an updated local edition of Monopoly. Reached out to the organizing team at Top Trumps and coordinated an advertising opportunity. Upon learning that the Top Trumps team did not have a PR plan in place, coordinated a campaign to promote the launch of Monopoly Napa Valley highlighting Frank Family’s inclusion in the board. 

Action

Offered an exclusive to Good Morning America, which involved working closely with Top Trumps to provide the GMA team early access to images and a sample of the board game. Coordinated a launch event at Frank Family Vineyards, attended by approximately two dozen journalists and members of the trade.  Following the event, promptly distributed a press release to national media outlets. 

Results

Campaign resulted in 35 pieces of coverage including an exclusive launch on GoodMorningAmerica.com and placements in top trade and consumer lifestyle publications. As a result of outreach, features of the Monopoly Napa Valley boardgame consistently mentioned Frank Family as a key winery in the Napa Valley. In addition to coverage of the initial launch, the press release and subsequent campaign resulted in significant coverage in holiday gift guide articles, effectively boosting sales of Frank Family’s holiday package featuring the boardgame during the critical OND sales season.
